Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of a varied portfolio including refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, roofing and selected new-build projects up to £10m. The role offers a collaborative culture and a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

You will manage procurement, valuations, cost reporting and forecasting, with a focus on cost control, change management and client engagement, while mentoring junior staff toward successful project

Qualifikationen

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with regional or national contractor experience.
• Strong knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts.
• Experience in refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, roofing or new-build projects.
• Chartered status or working towards RICS/CIOB is welcomed.

Thorn Baker are working with an established and growing construction business that are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial team and support a portfolio of refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, roofing and selected new-build projects valued up to £10m. The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. Key duties will include:

• Procurement and subcontractor management
• Valuations and cost/value reporting
• Forecasting and cost control
• Change management and contractual notices
• Risk and opportunity management
• Client reporting and stakeholder engagement
• Final accounts and project close-out
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required

About You

We are interested in speaking with:

• Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors from regional or national main contractors
• Project Quantity Surveyors ready to step into a senior position
• Commercial professionals with experience in refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance, roofing or new-build projects
• Candidates with strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
• Professionals experienced in frameworks, negotiated work and two-stage procurement

A Quantity Surveying or Construction-related qualification would be advantageous, although substantial relevant experience will be considered equally. Chartered status or working towards RICS/CIOB accreditation is welcomed. [Job Role I...tober 2026 | PDF]
