An established independent construction consultancy based in Maidstone is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work across a varied portfolio of property and construction projects throughout Kent, London and the wider South East.
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will manage commissions from initial feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with clients, architects, contractors and wider consultant teams, providing clear commercial advice while maintaining control of project costs, risk and contractual matters.
This role would suit a confident Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys the autonomy and direct client contact offered by an independent consultancy. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be expected to lead projects, maintain strong client relationships and support junior members of the team. For an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor, there is excellent scope to take on greater responsibility as the consultancy continues to develop.
Leading cost management commissions from inception through to completion
Preparing feasibility estimates, cost plans and project budgets
Managing tender documentation, tender analysis and procurement
Overseeing valuations, variations and change control
Producing detailed cost reports and commercial forecasts
Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
Advising clients on procurement, contractual and commercial matters
Attending client, design team and site meetings
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
Strong UK PQS or cost consultancy experience
MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership
Good working knowledge of JCT contracts and UK procurement routes
Proven experience managing projects through pre- and post-contract stages
Strong commercial judgement and client-facing communication skills
Comfortable managing multiple commissions independently
£65,000 – £75,000 per annum
