We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on the Great Grid Partnership (GGP) with National Grid. Within our thriving Energy business under an Enterprise Agreement, this programme will cover the next 10 years. Numerous projects of differing value and duration to be undertaken and completed as part of this.

Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on the Great Grid Partnership (GGP) with National Grid. Within our thriving Energy business under an Enterprise Agreement, this programme will cover the next 10 years. Numerous projects of differing value and duration to be undertaken and completed as part of this.

Initially, you will play a key role in supporting the GGP Core Service team, focusing on commercial, procurement & finance activities. As the programme progresses into the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, this role will transition into directly supporting GGP Projects delivery.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a significant programme that will shape the UK’s Energy infrastructure for the future.

The Person

The successful candidate will be joining an existing team of passionate and dedicated individuals.

We Are Looking For a Senior Quantity Surveyor Who Has a Civils Background, Ideally Having Delivered Energy Projects, And Meets The Following Criteria

  • Educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other equivalent commercially related discipline) and you will be working towards professional membership of an appropriate organisation (for example, RICS/CIOB).
  • Detailed knowledge of company management systems including; Commercial and financial (Commercial Manager /COINS/Sphere).
  • Extensive experience on large NG/infrastructure/substation projects preferred
  • NEC experience essential

You will need to be able to evidence the management of large value sub-contracts as the role will requires a self-sufficient individual to support the team.

Responsibilities

As a senior quantity surveyor you will

  • Provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead in a geographical focused team.
  • Ensure the provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the management team whilst ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets.

About Our Energy Business

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
