We are seeking a motivated individual to join the commercial team, working on challenging rail frameworks and major projects. Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor:

As a Quantity Surveyor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing essential commercial information and reports to the Commercial Manager, including CVR’s, periodic valuations/applications, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Developing and nurturing client relationships through regular contact and meetings.
  • Monitoring contract costs to ensure alignment with agreed budgets.
  • Ensuring contract compliance with statutory requirements and maintaining accurate contract correspondence records.
  • Identifying potential financial risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing, submitting, and negotiating final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Supply Chain for subcontract and supplier procurement, negotiation, and order placement.
  • Overseeing certification procedures for contract payments/variations and settling final accounts with subcontractors, adhering to agreed terms and conditions.
Quantity Surveyor Specification:

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a contracting environment.
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, RICS, or CES (or equivalent).
  • General knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
  • Experience within the rail sector.
  • Capacity to manage a fast-paced, high-volume turnover of orders while maintaining high standards of project performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and a proven ability to hit the ground running.
  • Strong attention to detail.
