Senior Quantity Surveyor - Planned Maintenance
Location: Leeds
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000

Your new role
Our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Leeds, focusing on planned maintenance projects of up to £14 million. The role will require an experienced individual with a strong understanding of cost management in the construction industry. The successful candidate will take a lead role in overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of planned maintenance contracts, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.


Responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing and overseeing the full lifecycle of planned maintenance projects, from pre-construction through to completion.
  2. Preparing and managing cost plans, budgets, and financial reporting for multiple projects.
  3. Providing advice and guidance on contract negotiations and variations.
  4. Ensuring projects adhere to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
  5. Managing subcontractor relationships, including tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
  6. Liaising with clients, project managers, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  7. Preparing and submitting final accounts, valuations, and reports.
  8. Assisting with risk management and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  9. Mentoring and providing support to junior members of the team.

What you will need to succeed:

  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in planned maintenance or similar sectors.
  2. Strong knowledge of contract management, cost control, and procurement processes.
  3. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ideally in a senior position.
  4. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  5. Membership or working towards membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous.
  6. Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  7. The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  8. A proactive and problem-solving approach to challenges.
