MTR Partnership in the North West of England is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial function on building projects valued up to £2 million.
You will sit within a small Commercial team, reporting to the Commercial Director, with close collaboration with operations and design teams to deliver successful commercial outcomes. The role is office-based with site visits around Merseyside and Lancashire.
We are working with a growing regional contractor whose North West Office has created a great reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects for their clients.
They have excellent relationships with their clients that means they enjoy a good proportion of repeat business and they are also members of key public sector, procurement frameworks that have traditionally generated good quality work.
Their focus is now to continue to grow their public sector workload (schools, public buildings, healthcare schemes typically) and to do this they'd like to appoint some key members of staff to deliver the work.
They are in the fortunate position of having a good proportion of their turnover secured for 2026-27 so can be very choosey about the work they take on and the margin they make has been going up year on year.
They are now in a position to add a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to their small Commercial team.
Their work is always based within 30 miles of their head office and your time will be largely spent in the office with site visits when required.
You’ll be responsible for 3-4 projects at any time each valued up to £2 Million.
You will report in to the commercial manager and company directors who will provide ongoing support.
You will work closely with the operations and technical teams to reach a successful commercial outcome on your projects.
General responsibilities will include the following:
They would like to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who has previously been responsible for leading the commercial function of building projects similar to those mentioned above or someone who is at Quantity Surveyor level looking for the next step in their career.
The Commercial lead is a vastly experienced Commercial Director who has been responsible for training and developing Quantity Surveyors for over 30 yrs.
You will be based in or be able to commute to their office/sites in the North West of England (projects are largely based in Merseyside and Lancashire).
You’ll be IT literate and contractually aware.
You will receive a good salary and benefits package.
You will be working with a company who can provide a challenging and supportive working environment who have a really healthy pipeline of work starting on site during 2026/7 and ambitious but achievable plans for the future.
You will be working with a successful and well-established contractor who are a part of a larger construction group who work within a small geographical area so can minimise your daily commute.
