Our client are a well-established main contracting building company with a strong presence across the North West, delivering high-quality construction projects across the commercial, residential, healthcare, and education sectors.

Due to sustained growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Liverpool-based team.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of projects ranging from £1 million to £10 million in value. You will play a key role in managing project finances, mitigating risks, and ensuring profitable outcomes from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple projects
  • Lead subcontractor procurement and contract administration
  • Monitor and report on project profitability and cash flow
  • Assess and value variations, claims, and change management
  • Liaise with site teams, project managers, and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual obligations, and health & safety standards

Looking For

  • Minimum 7 years' experience with a UK main contractor
  • Proven track record of managing building projects up to £10 million
  • Strong knowledge of JCT forms of contract
  • BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction software (e.g., COINS, Viewpoint)
