We are recruiting an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic, hybrid Property and Construction Consultancy founded by two experienced professionals from Main Contractor and Property Consultancy backgrounds. The Quantity Surveyor will join a business whose ability to operate flexibly across both consultancy and full construction delivery, offering clients a tailored, end-to-end service throughout the development process.

With over 40 years of combined industry experience, they are built on a commitment to hands-on, collaborative project delivery. Their focus is on de-risking development, delivering value, and working closely with clients, contractors, investors, and funders who value personal service and commercial insight.

The Quantity Surveyor Role

We're looking for an ambitious and capable Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercial elements of construction and development projects from feasibility to final account
  • Prepare cost plans, budgets, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
  • Handle valuations, variations, and payment applications
  • Support procurement and contract negotiation
  • Monitor costs and financial performance against project budgets
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and professional teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks
  • Prepare and manage cash flows and cost reports
  • Procure subcontractors and manage tender processes
  • Operate across consultancy and contracting functions as needed
  • Be confident in client-facing roles, including time spent in client offices

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 3–6 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with exposure to both contractor and/or consultancy roles
  • Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Organised, self-motivated, and a strong team player
  • Commercially focused with great attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Experience in residential or mixed-use development
  • Background in both consultancy and contracting
