Job summary

highr in London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on major construction projects, reporting to the Commercial Director.

You will oversee pre-construction through final accounts, negotiate subcontract packages, monitor costs and cash flow, and drive strong financial performance on high-profile developments.

This role offers a highly competitive package (£130k–£150k total) with flights, accommodation and subsistence fully paid.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience with a main contractor on large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contract forms.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to deliver strong financial outcomes independently.
• Full right to work in the UK or eligibility to obtain permissions.

Salary & Package: £130,000–£150,000 total package, depending on experience, plus flights, accommodation and subsistence fully paid.

An established and highly respected main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering landmark commercial, residential and mixed-use developments is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its London-based team.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take full commercial responsibility for major projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring strong financial performance while maintaining excellent client and subcontractor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of large-scale construction projects.
• Prepare, manage and negotiate subcontract packages.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
