Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• MRICS Chartered, or working towards chartership.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong experience with private sector clients and residential developers.
• Excellent cost planning and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with pre and post-contract services.
• Good understanding of JCT contracts and procurement routes.
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
• Confident managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying services for private sector clients and developers.
• Prepare feasibility estimates, cost plans and development appraisals.
• Advise clients during land acquisition, project viability and budget setting.
• Produce procurement strategies and manage competitive tender processes.
• Prepare tender documentation and analyse tenders.
• Administer JCT contracts throughout the construction process.
• Prepare interim valuations, cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Manage project variations, change control and commercial risk.
• Negotiate final accounts with contractors.
• Provide value engineering to maximise project value and ROI.
• Attend client, design team and contractor meetings as commercial lead.
• Mentor Assistant and Quantity Surveyors.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with developers, investors and private sector clients.
• Support business development and identify opportunities for repeat work.

The Opportunity

A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Gloucester office.

Working predominantly with private sector clients and residential developers, you'll play a key role in delivering professional cost consultancy services across a diverse portfolio of projects. From high-quality residential developments and mixed-use schemes through to commercial, industrial and specialist projects, you'll provide strategic commercial advice from the earliest stages of development through to project completion.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

About You

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy
• Strong experience working with private sector clients and residential developers
• Proven ability to deliver both pre and post-contract services
• Excellent cost planning and financial reporting skills
• Good understanding of JCT contracts and procurement routes
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Confident managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• MRICS Chartered, or actively working towards chartership, would be advantageous
• Full UK driving licence
