Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team delivering HMP Glasgow, a major project located north east of Glasgow city.

The Senior Project Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in providing commercial oversight for the GBP 200M+ "house block" elements of the campus, comprising 5 buildings delivered using DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) methodology.

Location: Glasgow, HMP Glasgow Project Site

Hours: Full Time, Permanent - flexible options considered

Responsibilities include:

  • Organising project work fronts into component work packages for procurement
  • Negotiating with subcontractors to achieve best value
  • Managing payment applications from subcontractors
  • Preparing information for client payment applications
  • Monitoring and measuring expenditure against the budget via CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
  • Preparing final accounts

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
  • Senior-level quantity surveying experience on large construction projects within a main contractor environment
  • Understanding of SBCC, NEC, and JCT contract conditions
  • Experience dealing with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to mentor and oversee junior commercial staff
  • Full UK Driving License
