Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team delivering HMP Glasgow, a major project located northeast of Glasgow city.

The Senior Project Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in providing commercial oversight for the £200M+ "house block" elements of the campus, comprising 5 buildings delivered using DFMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) methodology.

Location: Glasgow, HMP Glasgow Project Site

Hours: Full Time, Permanent – flexible options considered

Responsibilities include:

• Organising project work fronts into component work packages for procurement
• Negotiating with subcontractor supply chains to achieve best value
• Managing applications for payment from subcontractors
• Preparing information for client payment applications
• Monitoring and measuring expenditure against the budget using CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
• Preparing final accounts

Candidate requirements:

This role is suitable for candidates who:

• Hold a degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
• Have senior-level quantity surveying experience on large construction projects within a main contractor environment
• Possess relevant understanding of SBCC, NEC, and JCT contract conditions
• Are comfortable engaging with client representatives, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
• Have the ability to mentor and oversee junior commercial staff
• Hold a full UK Driving Licence
