Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Exeter team, leading commercial activities on regional projects and ensuring success from pre-construction through final accounts.

The role offers a clear progression path, exposure to education, healthcare and commercial schemes, and a strong pipeline with site visits as required. Based in Exeter with hybrid travel to sites across the region.

Qualifications

• BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC required.
• Experience managing projects from pre-construction to final account.
• Proficiency with JCT and NEC forms of contract.

Responsibilities

• Lead on projects as commercial lead from pre-construction through final account.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with Commercial Manager.
• Oversee procurement and subcontractor packages.
• Manage final accounts and resolve disputes with clients.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a highly reputable regional main contractor based in Exeter. The business operates out of several offices across the country, and as a group undertakes projects across a diverse project portfolio including education, healthcare, commercial, heritage and light industrial valuing typically up to £15mil.

They're now looking to expand their team in Exeter with an additional Senior Quantity Surveyor.

About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be working as commercial lead on projects managing them from pre-construction through to final account. You will report into the Commercial Manager and will be responsible for managing / mentoring junior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Work alongside pre-construction team on any 2-stage tenders
• Oversee the projects procurement / management of sub-contractor packages
• Deal with final accounts / any dispute resolution that may arise
• Liaise with the clients teams
• Mentor junior members of the Surveying team and be involved in their professional development

Key Requirements for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role

• Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC
• Have experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
• Be proficient in administering various forms of contract including JCT and NEC
• Must live in a commutable location to Exeter and be happy to visit office and sites as required
• MUST have the full right to work in the UK
