Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Surrey

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the expanding, Surrey based commercial team.

With the opportunity to work for a rapidly growing, bespoke, private house builder who have foundation built over the past eight years on strategic land acquisition and development. This role is pivotal in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of the projects, from bespoke developments to larger housing schemes. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in quantity surveying within the house building sector and be capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee two to three live projects, ensuring accurate cost management from inception to completion. This includes preparing cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring projects are completed within the allocated financial parameters. Initially, the role will involve handling buying responsibilities, which will transition to a dedicated buyer as the team expands. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding junior members of the team, ensuring best practices are followed.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, within the house building industry. While buying experience is advantageous, it is not essential, as support and training can be provided. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as the role involves collaborating with various internal teams, including construction, land and planning, and sales. The candidate should demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in the house building sector. They should be a strong communicator, a proactive problem-solver, and a team player. Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
