Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Freelance (Outside IR35)

On-site delivering a new build Power station in Essex over the 12 - 18 months.

Location: Thurrock, Essex
Salary: £450 - £500 (Outside IR35) per day

Work Arrangement: Site-based, minimum of 3 days a week, ideally 4 days due to the programme but there is flexibility to work from home as the programme requires.

Role Description:
The Resolute Group is working in partnership with an M&E contractor who has been awarded the installation of a new Power station based in Essex. We are mobilising a team to deliver the programme over the next 12 - 18 months, hence looking for a temporary/freelance contractor to support the delivery of the scheme.

Your duties will vary depending on the programme of works but could include:

  1. Prepare and furnish up to date costs to the client based on project re-measure.
  2. Work closely with the project planner to develop the Monthly progress applications.
  3. Ensure all contract variations are captured from engineering deviations and site requests.
  4. Prepare in-house monthly commercial reports and ensure complete control over all commercial aspects of the project.
  5. Monitor earned values and calculations of spend vs earned values on a weekly basis.

Experience & Qualifications:
  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying. Trade background is advantageous.
  2. Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration and close-out relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity survey functions for E&I contracting industry operations.
