Job description

Liberty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, based in Havant. You will be working on a full-time permanent basis, working 40 hours per week and in return, you will receive a competitive salary plus vehicle allowance plus excellent benefits!

Responsibilities for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role will include:

  • Assist with tender bids, quotations, and contract documentation
  • Review contracts, identify risks, and support the bid team
  • Provide commercial support, including quantity surveying and financial forecasting
  • Obtain quotes for sub-contracts and materials within budget
  • Foster collaboration across teams and ensure project success
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with material quantification
  • Support new contract mobilisation and key commercial tasks
  • Promote best practices and innovation
  • Monitor project costs, progress, and quality
  • Lead and empower direct reports to align with company priorities
  • Represent Liberty externally and ensure compliance with policies
  • Lead risk management for Commercial and H&C business units
  • Accountable for operational and financial performance of the units

What we are looking for in our ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Good level education (e.g., GCSEs in Maths and English)
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations (Desirable)
  • Relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying or Construction Management) (Desirable)
  • Member of RICS or similar professional body
  • CSCS card (Desirable)
  • Experience in social housing (Desirable)
  • Leadership and team management experience
  • Budget management, business planning, and performance reporting
  • Report writing and presenting (CVR)
  • Experience with computerised databases and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage resources
  • Analytical and sound decision-making abilities
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and strong with numbers
  • Commitment to high-quality customer service
  • Motivational leadership in a changing environment
