Job description

Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central London
Salary: £80,000 to £90,000 + package


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a complex cut and carve project in Central London. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be site based and acting as the number 2 on a £150m project which includes the conversion of a listed building into high specification office space for a blue chip client.


Main Responsibilities:
  1. Taking responsibility for ensuring all financial and commercial matters are effectively controlled throughout each phase of the project
  2. Oversee and mentor a commercial team that will include a Project QS, QS and Assistant QS
  3. Manage and review subcontractor procurement, tendering and contract administration according to the project requirements
  4. Ensure all change control procedures are implemented and variations are captured, costed and agreed
  5. Lead on the preparation and submission of monthly valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
  6. Monitor project cash flow, risk management and commercial performance
  7. Work closely with the site project team, clients, stakeholders and external consultants
  8. Ensure compliance with the contract

Requirements:
  1. Previous experience working for a main contractor on large refurbishment or new build projects in the UK
  2. Excellent communication skills
  3. Strong contract knowledge (JCT)
  4. Confident when working with colleagues, clients and stakeholders
