Senior Quantity Surveyor - Highways
£70,000
North Somerset, United Kingdom

About the Role: Are you ready to take the lead on our Infrastructure projects? We're seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. Ideally based locally, we're open to subsidizing relocation for the right candidate.

The Role:
  1. Creating a safe working environment is a priority.
  2. Producing subcontract documentation, negotiating terms and conditions, prices, and programs.
  3. Managing subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  4. Issuing commercial notices to both the Client and Subcontractors as required by the contract.
  5. Managing change in accordance with the contract, including Compensation Event Quotations.
  6. Submitting and agreeing monthly applications to the Client.
  7. Liaising with operational and engineering staff to maintain site records.
  8. Producing detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR).
  9. Maintaining a detailed Cost Plan and forecasting expenditure.
  10. Attending progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors.
  11. Maximizing value and profit by applying the principles of 'Doing the right thing.'
  12. Assisting estimating and bid teams with contractual expertise.
  13. Playing a key role in the commercial team on-site.
About You:
  1. Good understanding of standard forms of contract.
  2. Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
  3. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  4. Experience with NEC3/4 Option C contracts and main contracts.
  5. First-class time and outcome management skills.
  6. Experience in Civil Engineering Environment (Highways/Rail/Water/Aviation) working with Highways England or Local Authority Clients.
  7. Exposure to large single or multiple smaller schemes.
