Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead contract and subcontract administration on the HS2 project. The role requires strong commercial acumen, governance, and effective interface management within a headhouse construction commercial team.
You will support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and delivering value across design & build packages.

Senior quantity surveyor responsible for both the Contract and Subcontract administration of Design & Build Subcontracts and will be working within the headhouse Construction Commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial Package Manager and working closely with other commercial team members. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be able to display the following competencies:
The candidate will be self‑motivated, disciplined and commercially astute with the ability to identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks, taking ownership and responsibility. Shall have oversight of the implementation and ongoing assurance that the project’s governance and any contract specific requirements are adhered to.
Good communication and customer facing skills, along with working as part of a team promoting our JV culture and values. Will consider problems as a challenge, collect information relevant to the problem, be disciplined in ascertaining the root cause, identify and develop a practical solution, communicate the findings and implement action to resolve the problem.

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK’s new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK’s 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services
The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 Main Civils Contracts which include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The combined value of the contracts is around £1.8billion with the works due for completion in 2025. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
