Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Management

In this dynamic and varied profession, you will apply your knowledge of quantity surveying to the larger field of business consultancy.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Offer commercial and contractual experience to support the Funder in assessing risk, including risks related to client systems, processes, and contracts.
2. Provide advice on whether the Funder should proceed with providing a facility.
3. Analyze client information to identify key data and support decision-making processes.
4. Monitor the funding lifecycle to identify and mitigate future risks.
5. Advise on and implement exit strategies when clients wish to withdraw from funding arrangements.
6. Demonstrate expertise in commercial practices such as managing payment applications, certificates, and cost reconciliation reporting.
7. Engage with stakeholders, maintain open communication, and build trust through sector knowledge.

Desired Skills and Experience

1. 10+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management with a main contractor.
2. Knowledge of standard contract forms such as JCT and NEC 3 & 4.
3. Understanding of Cost Valuation Reconciliation (CVR).
4. Strong commercial skills, including managing payment applications and cost reconciliation.
5. Good data analysis skills.
6. Basic understanding of company accounts (training available).
7. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

1. Degree qualification.
2. RICS qualification and/or MCIArb preferred.
