Chubb Systems is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Blackburn. The role involves managing the commercial aspects of design and build projects valued between several million and £10 million.

This is a hybrid role, involving work from home, Blackburn office, and nationwide project sites. Overnight stays near site locations may be required. The ideal candidate will have a strong, tenacious personality, a solid technical background, and be a team player capable of working independently and focusing on targets and results.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Administer Main Contracts, including Project Control, Change Management, and Cash collection
• Manage Subcontract Agreements, executing subcontract strategies across the portfolio
• Advise on standard agreement forms (FIDIC, JCT, NEC, ICE), ensuring best practices throughout project phases
• Develop and negotiate all Subcontracts
• Manage all Subcontract work, particularly NEC3 and other standard forms
• Handle Change management, including valuation and agreement of change impacts with Subcontractors

Project Management

• Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify early warnings in the Subcontract environment
• Assist in administering Instructions and similar documentation
• Prepare accurate project control information to evaluate progress against schedules

Compliance

• Ensure team adherence to ethics, quality, and EH&S requirements
• Maintain a safe working environment on-site and off-site

Experience

• Experience with JCT standard contracts is essential
• Experience with NEC 3 contracts is essential

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

• Graduate caliber with relevant experience in business processes and best practices
• Experience quantifying works according to Standard Measurement Rules
• Experience administering Contracts for clients and subcontractors
• Ability to influence and manage difficult situations professionally
