Senior Quantity Surveyor
Midlands
Up to £72,000 plus company package

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK's largest contractors working on HS2. This Senior Quantity Surveyor role is part of the large packages of heavy civils and structures work. The business is a leader in the civil engineering and infrastructure sector.

This role will be working as part of the commercial team and offers great career-changing opportunities. This scheme will be over 5 years initially, with a strong order book within the region. The role will involve working on major structures and technical elements.

Role Purpose:

Our client is looking for candidates with experience in managing all commercial aspects of the scheme.

Duties:
  1. Measure, record & value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures.
  2. Measure & interpret specifications & drawings.
  3. Translate measurement from drawings and specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates if required.
  4. Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works.
  5. Plan commercial activities to meet monthly timescales.
  6. Collation of cost and value information.
  7. Preparation of cost reconciliation statements.
  8. Submission and agreement of adjustment events with the client.
  9. Collect information required to specify procurement requirements.
  10. Understand the steps/documentation required.
  11. Assist procurement function where required.
  12. Management of subcontractor accounts.
Experience:
  1. BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor in civil engineering.
