Job summary

Galliford Try's Asset Intelligence business is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial activity across an agreed project portfolio, with a focus on Stansted Airport. The role requires mobilisation to final account and regular site attendance to understand progress and delivery constraints.

The successful candidate will run cost-value reviews, prepare forecasts and month-end submissions, and manage subcontract tendering and contract administration. NEC/JCT knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Quantity surveying experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities or comparable projects.
• Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts is preferred.
• Membership in the professional body or progress towards it is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost-value reviews, forecasts and month-end submissions.
• Manage subcontract tendering, negotiations and contract administration.
• Handle change control including compensation events, variations, early warnings and notices.
• Oversee supply-chain payment assessments, commercial meetings and risk reporting.

Galliford Try's Asset Intelligence business is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial work across an agreed project portfolio, with particular focus on Stansted Airport. The full-time role runs from mobilisation to final account and requires regular site attendance to understand progress, changes, sequencing and delivery constraints.

Responsibilities include:

• cash-flow forecasts
• client applications and the management of debt
• work in progress

The surveyor will lead cost-value reviews, forecasts and month-end submissions, and manage subcontract tendering, negotiations and contract administration. Change duties cover compensation events, variations, early warnings and notices. Extension-of-time and loss-and-expense matters must be supported by clear records where applicable.

The role also involves supply-chain payment assessments, commercial meetings, risk reporting and coaching surveyors and assistants. Applicants need quantity-surveying experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities or a comparable project setting. A relevant qualification or demonstrable experience is accepted.

Knowledge of standard contracts is required, with NEC and JCT experience preferred. Excel, commercial reporting systems and team-development skills are requested. Professional membership or progress towards it is desirable.
