Overview

LSEG D&A Commodity Research is looking for a Research Manager to join our Global Gas Research team. The team delivers market data, develops and supports fundamental forecasts models of supply, demand, and prices, and publishes in-depth reports on the natural gas market. Our clients are natural gas and LNG producers, importers, distribution companies, trading houses, and financial and governmental institutions. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and enhancement of fundamental supply and demand models for European, North American and LNG gas markets.
  • Drive the modelling strategy across the global gas team, ensuring consistency, innovation, and analytical rigor.
  • Deliver impactful market insights through data-driven reports, tools, and presentations.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate complex market dynamics clearly and persuasively.
  • Inspire and manage a team of analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, data delivery, and client value.
  • Support commercial efforts through client engagement, product demonstrations, and thought leadership.
  • Contribute to the evolution of analytical platforms with improved tools, charts, and visualizations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience in the gas or energy sector, with a strong focus on market modelling and analysis.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and scale fundamental models of gas supply, demand, and pricing.
  • Deep understanding of gas market fundamentals, including regional dynamics and price formation.
  • Strong quantitative and programming skills (Python, R, Matlab, Power BI - a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive change.
