Job summary

PwC is seeking a Quant Developer within Advisory in Greater London to contribute to a Python-based valuation platform. You will architect, develop, and maintain software that supports valuation and risk management of financial instruments as an individual contributor.

Strong Python skills and familiarity with quantitative models are essential. You will design features, implement risk models, and enhance APIs and tooling while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Python software engineering experience in industry or academia.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining production-quality software.
  • Ability to work with large, complex codebases.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience with Git, Unix/Linux environments, testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of mathematical or quantitative models and ability to work with domain specialists.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in CS, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and extending an existing Python codebase.
  • Designing, developing, and delivering new application features and services.
  • Implementing and integrating quantitative valuation and risk models.
  • Improving system performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Enhancing user interfaces and developer tooling.
  • Maintaining and extending a RESTful API server application.
  • Supporting integration of internally developed and third-party models, including AI-enabled solutions where appropriate.
  • Driving software architecture, design decisions, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
