Job summary

PwC UK is seeking a Quant Developer to help architect, develop, and maintain a Python-based valuation platform. You will contribute to the design and delivery of software supporting valuation and risk management of financial instruments, working with quantitative models and complex codebases.

The role emphasizes production-quality software, strong Python engineering, and collaboration with domain specialists to implement quantitative methods.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Python software engineering experience.
  • Production-quality software development experience.
  • Experience working with large, complex codebases.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with Git, Unix/Linux environments, testing frameworks, and CI/CD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and extending an existing Python codebase.
  • Designing, developing, and delivering new application features and services.
  • Implementing and integrating quantitative valuation and risk models.
  • Improving system performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Enhancing user interfaces and developer tooling.
  • Maintaining and extending a RESTful API server application.
  • Supporting integration of internally developed and third-party models, including AI-enabled solutions where appropriate.
  • Driving software architecture, design decisions, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
