Senior Quality Support Team Specialist (Permanent)

Victoria, BC

Expected Salary: $80,458 to $116,216

In this role, you will:

  1. Possess experience in welding procedures, specifications, and inspection/verification.
  2. Have experience with Non-destructive Testing (NDT), documentation, requirements, procedures, and records.
  3. Hold qualifications as a welding inspector and/or NDT inspector (asset).
  4. Provide technical support in disciplines such as auxiliary systems, electrical and combat systems, structural inspections, and more.
  5. Interpret DND material certification requirements and work scope to define quality records.
  6. Review Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) documentation from suppliers, subcontractors, and DND.
  7. Ensure compliance with submarine Quality Assurance and Material Certification through inspection, analysis, and audits.
  8. Review safety-critical technical documentation and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  9. Advise departments on quality requirements and liaise with stakeholders including DND to ensure documentation compliance.
  10. Update configuration changes within the Submarine Definition Database (SDD) and coordinate documentation updates.
  11. Use the DRMIS tool (SAP) to maintain submarine configuration.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:

  1. Eligibility for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR clearance, including NATO SECRET and Controlled Goods clearance.
  2. Registered as a Certified Mechanical Technologist.
  3. Minimum four years of relevant experience and knowledge of marine systems.
  4. Military experience is an asset.
  5. Technical college diploma or equivalent training and experience.
  6. Experience with technical documentation review and quality assurance processes.
  7. Knowledge of marine and submarine systems is an asset.
  8. Qualification and experience as an auditor are assets.
  9. Attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  10. Ability to interpret technical and system drawings and advise accordingly.
