Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Manager to join the Derby-based expansion programme and uphold the highest standards of quality across the project.

You will lead the project quality team, establish and maintain the quality strategy, and ensure works comply with contractual requirements, standards, and BB quality processes, while collaborating with construction teams to drive a right-first-time culture and robust assurance activities.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior quality management role within the construction or nuclear industry.
• Experience on complex, technically demanding projects.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, assurance and control processes.
• Experience managing quality teams and subcontractor/supply chain quality performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to influence project teams and drive a positive quality culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the project quality team, providing direction, support and technical leadership.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan and associated quality processes.
• Ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and embedded across the project.
• Work closely with project and construction teams to promote a right-first-time approach.
• Monitor quality performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead the implementation of inspection and test plans, quality control procedures and assurance activities.
• Ensure works are inspected, tested and documented in accordance with project requirements.
