Job summary

Placr Recruitment's client in Hailsham, East Sussex is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to join the quality team. The role focuses on inspection, supplier quality, NCR management and continuous improvement in a precision engineering environment.

This key position requires strong GD&T, metrology equipment experience and the ability to read detailed drawings, with travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a machine shop, precision engineering or similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong engineering drawing and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with CMM, Faro Arm and precision metrology equipment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, SPC, AQL and supplier quality.
• A Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect precision-engineered components and sub-assemblies using CMM, Faro Arm and other metrology equipment.
• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, GD&T and specifications.
• Manage NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain inspection plans and quality controls through the ERP system.
• Support Right First Time and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain teams.
• Attend customer sites when required, with reasonable travel expenses covered.
