Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to provide QA and QC support across a major infrastructure programme in a highly regulated environment. The role combines site-based work with remote elements to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work with project teams, suppliers, and regulators to implement ISO 9001:2015 standards, conduct audits, review documentation, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quality Engineering role.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
• Experience in regulated environments (Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Pharma).
• SC Clearance (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• HNC Level 4 (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide QA and QC support across project delivery.
• Coordinate supplier relations and stakeholders.
• Flow-down client quality requirements through supply chain.
• Lead continuous improvement and lessons learned.
• Develop quality procedures, processes, and plans.
• Review tender, contract, inspection, and quality docs for compliance.
• Plan site inspections and supplier surveillance.
• Conduct internal and supplier quality audits.
• Monitor KPIs and quality objectives.
• Verify product/service conformance through inspections.
• Support quality risk, non-conformances, and defect notifications.
• Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Coordinate review of lifetime quality records and final packs.
• Liaise with third-party quality reps and regulators.
