Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to strengthen quality oversight across defence and automotive programmes. You will lead investigations, craft robust quality plans and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams at Walsall.

Role requires strong experience in automotive QA/QC, ISO 9001 auditing, and expertise with FMEA, SPC, APQP, MSA and 8D problem solving. Onsite work schedule in a fast-paced environment offers exposure to national defence projects and

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within automotive manufacturing.
• Experience leading QA/QC in low/high-volume production environments.
• Strong understanding of automotive quality standards and continuous improvement.
• Experience auditing against ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Proficiency with FMEA, SPC, APQP, MSA and 8D problem solving; ISO/TS 16949 knowledge.
• Degree in Engineering or Quality Management or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking investigations into quality issues and developing effective quality plans.
• Implementing quality solutions that support new business opportunities and project delivery.
• Collaborating with internal teams, suppliers and government customers to maintain quality standards.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring quality assurance processes and procedures.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, process optimisation and operational efficiency.
