Job summary

Dorchester Search & Selection is seeking a Quality Engineer for a Stoke-on-Trent based company that develops high-performance materials for aerospace and regulated markets. You will lead the quality function, drive QMS improvements and coordinate audits to AS/EN 9100 and ISO 9001.

The role demands a degree in a related field, formal quality management qualifications, and senior-level audit experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering or related.
• Recognised quality management qualification.
• AS/EN 9100 and ISO 9001 internal/external auditor资格.
• Five years’ quality experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing.
• Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer experience.
• Strong AS/EN9100 and ISO 9001 knowledge.
• Experience in supplier approval and audits.
• On-site work at Stoke-on-Trent facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continual improvement of the QMS to AS/EN 9100 and ISO 9001.
• Interpret the requirements of quality standards and embed them into policies, procedures and controls.
• Develop and maintain the quality manual, procedures, work instructions, forms and records.
• Develop and maintain a risk-based internal audit programme covering the QMS, manufacturing processes and products.
• Conduct and document QMS, process and product audits.
• Identify gaps between current practices and quality standard requirements and lead the improvement programme.
• Conduct supplier and subcontractor quality audits where required.
• Work with purchasing and suppliers to address recurring quality issues and improve performance.
• Coordinate preparation for AS/EN 9100 and ISO 9001 certification, surveillance and recertification audits.
• Organise and support management reviews, ensuring inputs, outputs and actions meet the standard.
• Establish quality objectives and KPIs aligned with business and customer requirements.
• Monitor QMS performance and report significant risks, trends and improvement opportunities to senior management.
• Promote awareness of customer requirements, product quality and accountability.
