Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

Senior Quality Engineer – Remote UK with quarterly meetups.

Are you a Senior Quality Engineer who is a technical engineer who can write automated tests, ask questions, poke and prod and drive change & efficiency?

Do you want to join a SaaS healthtech company with over 50,000 global users?

Do you want autonomy, working in a continuous delivery environment in a team that ships changes to prod 100+ times per month.

The Tech:

The Package:

£75,000 - £85,000 (stretching to £95,000 for exceptional candidates) + 25 days holiday + an additional day for your birthday, healthcare, 5% contributory pension and more.

The Projects:

  • The work you do here has a direct impact on the company’s global growth strategy. You’ll help identify reusable, scalable quality engineering approaches to support expansion into international markets.
  • This team sits in insurance integration focused on different localities. They are currently looking at how to integrate with insurance providers in Australia and allow Australia practices who expect to use this functionality to go and do that in the best possible way.
  • This is a new market that they are trying to expand into it.
  • They have high unit test coverage but anything above that is sparse. There is an existing end to end framework in place that has 4 of 14 key journeys currently covered. You will focus on solving the E2E piece.
  • You will help integrate with 3rd party services and how they integrate their Blazor application with another internal application.

The challenges:

  • They want to identify things that are reusable as opposed to constantly making custom-built things.
  • If they can’t get this right, they can’t expand into other countries.
  • When devs run the Blazor app locally, it doesn’t look as it should in the main application, so you will help fix this.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining frameworks for their test infrastructure that embed into their CI/CD pipelines
  • Improve efficiency across a variety of testing, including API testing, Load/Stress testing, Integration Testing, Unit Testing, Accessibility Testing and Security Testing
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams including frontend, backend engineers, Product Managers and non-technical stakeholders

Your experience:

  • Senior Quality Engineer, Test Lead, QA Lead or SDET who has worked in a startup, scaleup or high-growth business.
  • You’ll be technically competent and independently implement change on requirements that surface.
  • You’ll have a test lead mindset, driving efficiencies in different areas. You'll understand that quality isn’t just that tests are green = everything is fine.
  • You’ll understand requirements gathering, design it right in the first place, make sure tests are spread out across multiple layers, not just testing everything right at the end.
  • Experience with Restful APIs.
  • You’ll be confident speaking up in meetings, driving agendas and getting a variety of stakeholders onboard.
  • You’ll be an enabler of teams to own quality.
  • You’ll be a strategist who can direct the strategy the EM gives you, apply the context and ensure the team is set up for success.

Interview Process:

2 stages conducted remotely over Zoom:

  • Intro Chat (1hr) – Meet the Engineering manager, discuss your background, the role and company
  • Final Stage (2hrs) – Pair programming with a pre-built framework where you will solve challenges + culture & values interview

Final Stage: 1 hour paired programming interview – this will be a pre created framework with tests and you’ll have to solve some challenges. They will be assessing how you write tests and fix framework issues. The final hour will be a cultural add interview.
