Job summary

Enlist Solution is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support a specialist engineering and manufacturing operation in Redditch. You will own quality assurance across production, suppliers and customers, driving continuous improvement and compliance with ISO 9001/14001 standards.

This hands-on role requires a strong background in machining, tooling, inspection and testing environments. You will collaborate with Engineering, Commercial and Purchasing teams and contribute to quality data

Qualifications

• Strong Quality Assurance background in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Experience in machining, machine shop, tooling, inspection or testing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience maintaining Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001/14001).
• Experience using NCR, root cause analysis and 8D problem-solving methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance across Bills of Materials and quality documentation.
• Act as primary contact for customer and supplier quality issues including returns and warranty claims.
• Produce NCR and 8D reports in response to complaints and non-conformities.
• Ensure processes comply with Quality Management System and ISO 9001.
• Conduct internal and external quality audits; liaise with suppliers on quality.
• Develop and maintain internal quality procedures and specifications.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce non-conformance.
• Support and report on QA data and KPIs.
• Provide QA support to Engineering, Commercial and Purchasing teams.

Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Redditch

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Working Pattern: 39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday, 8:15am–5:00pm; Friday, 8:15am–2:15pm

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to support a specialist engineering and manufacturing operation supplying technically demanding products to UK and international customers.

This is a hands-on quality role suited to someone with a strong background in manufacturing or engineering, particularly within machining, tooling, inspection and testing environments. The successful candidate will take responsibility for quality assurance activities across production, suppliers and customers, while supporting continuous improvement and compliance with relevant quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance across Bills of Materials and associated quality documentation.
• Act as a key point of contact for customer and supplier quality issues, including returns, rejects and warranty claims.
• Produce detailed NCR and 8D reports in response to customer complaints, returns and warranty issues.
• Ensure manufacturing and related processes comply with the company Quality Management System and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Conduct internal and external quality audits.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure materials and components meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Develop, implement and maintain internal quality procedures, standards and specifications.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce non-conformance.
• Provide quality support to Engineering, Commercial and Purchasing teams.
• Support and maintain health, safety and environmental standards.
• Record, analyse and report Quality Assurance data and performance metrics.
• Support corrective and preventative actions across manufacturing processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities across the wider business.

Requirements

• Strong Quality Assurance background within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience within machining, machine shop, tooling, inspection or testing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Experience managing or maintaining Quality Management Systems.
• Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Experience preparing ISIR and PPAP documentation.
• Experience using inspection and measurement equipment, including CMMs, Faro Arms or similar systems.
• Strong knowledge of NCR, root cause analysis and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability and High level of computer literacy.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
