Job summary

A specialist in surveillance and fire control is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to enhance their Business Management System. This role involves managing compliance with ISO 9001, conducting internal audits, and liaising with customers on Quality issues. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in QMS/BMS within a design and manufacturing environment and relevant qualifications. The position is hybrid based in Horsham, with a salary range of £45,000 - £55,000.

Qualifications

  • Strong auditing background (internal and supplier).
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • Ability to develop processes and documentation within a QMS/BMS.

Senior Quality Engineer – Horsham - Hybrid – £45,000 - £55,000

Are you an experienced Quality professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality team and support the ongoing development and improvement of our Business Management System (BMS).

Working for a surveillance and fire control specialist, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance to ISO 9001 and other industry standards.

Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain and continually improve the Business Management System (BMS) to meet ISO 9001 and defence industry standards.
  • Administer the internal audit schedule and conduct internal audits to monitor effectiveness.
  • Lead and support corrective action activities for material and process non-conformances.
  • Develop clear and concise processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Liaise directly with customers on Quality issues, including calls, visits, and bid/contract reviews.
  • Review bids and contracts for Quality requirements and prepare Quality Plans.
  • Support design gateway reviews to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct fault analysis and prepare reports on customer returns.
Skills and knowledge required
  • Proven experience managing QMS/BMS within a design and manufacturing environment.
  • Strong auditing background (internal and supplier).
  • Qualified to HNC/HND level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • Ability to develop processes and documentation within a QMS/BMS.
