Job description

Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Melksham, UK

Shift: Days

Salary: competitive

My client is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer Reporting to fulfil operational requirements, working within the Value Stream representing Quality and Product Development, helping to improve and develop products and processes, implementing changes as necessary to advance the business to meet the ever-increasing product and service levels.

Key Responsibilities - Senior Quality Engineer
  1. Manage and drive process improvement/CI activities (Kaizen).
  2. Review and audit a process and its controls to identify areas for improvement, implement updates and ensure processes are made robust through Quality documentation controls (Best practice, SOP's/Control Plans etc).
  3. Assist in collating all current safety, quality and rate issues to ensure our process and design teams reduce or eliminate risks through FMEA's/Control Plan creation and support these activities.
  4. Monitor and collate KPI metrics and OKR data and action accordingly for CI within the value stream.
  5. Co-ordinate the build of pre-production parts with the planning and production teams.
  6. Carry out specific projects as and when requested, and actively promote, run and be involved in Kaizens.
  7. Manage the customer experience with regards to quality concerns and problem solving (CAPA).
  8. Conduct supplier audits and drive supplier improvements, process, component and material opportunities.
  9. Support APQP/NPI projects and activities using lean manufacturing best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements - Senior Quality Engineer
  1. Computer literate.
  2. Six sigma yellow belt or above.
  3. Trained in and proficient in disciplined problem-solving techniques.
  4. Manufacturing processes knowledge.
  5. Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
  6. CI practitioner.
  7. Conduct PPAP submissions.
  8. Ensure the change control process is utilised and managed effectively.

Required Training

Min 2-3 years in a Quality Engineering or Manufacturing environment.

Proven record in CI / Kaizen and Lean principles.
