Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Transmission

Job summary

Mercury Hampton Contract are currently looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support a major transmission and infrastructure project in Inverness. You will manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), carry out site quality inspections across civil and electrical works, coordinate inspections, hold points, witness points and testing, and review subcontractor and supplier quality documentation.

The role requires strong ISO 9001 knowledge, NCR management, and experience with quality records,

Qualifications

• QA/QC experience on transmission or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of ITPs and quality management systems.
• Experience with NCRs, audits and inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Carry out site quality inspections across civil & electrical works.
• Coordinate inspections, hold points, witness points and testing.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quality documentation.
• Manage NCRs, corrective actions and close-out.
• Ensure quality records, test results and handover documentation are completed.
• Support audits, client inspections and quality reviews.
• Ensure testing & commissioning activities meet approved procedures.
• Compile as-built records and quality dossiers for project handover.
• Previous QA/QC experience within transmission, utilities, power or major infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of ITPs and quality management systems.
• Experience with NCRs, audits and inspection documentation.
• Understanding of civil & electrical installation works.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical standards.
• ISO 9001 knowledge.
• National Grid, DNO or EPC transmission experience is highly desirable.
