Job description

  • Location: Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh, Scotland

Morson Talent are currently seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to work on behalf of our aerospace client based in Edinburgh.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will interact at Programme and Integrated Project Team (IPT) level, working in partnership with the Programme and Project Managers.

Responsibilities:
  1. Offer advice, support, and assistance on all Quality Assurance / Quality Control matters.
  2. Support Principal Quality Engineer in driving objectives to meet/exceed targets including LPS/KPI goals, QL4 effectiveness, supplier and customer timely RCCA.
  3. Contribute actively to IPT requirements to deliver a compliant product in a timely manner meeting all cost and safety requirements.
  4. Support creation of Quality Plans defining quality assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity, and Improvement within the Programme and associated Projects, operating in line with the requirements of the Operational Framework.
  5. Provide leadership to the Assurance Teams in order to meet Programme and IPT objectives.
  6. Actively ensure LPS goals for Quality KPIs including QNs, MRB, FRBs etc. are achieved by supporting improvement plans and active management of key activities such as MRB.
  7. Lead the Assurance function’s improvement plans across all phases of the Programme, Product, and Project Lifecycle.
  8. Mentor others in order to grow Quality excellence within the Programme/Projects.
  9. Successfully apply interpersonal skills to positively influence behaviours within Quality at individual and team levels.
  10. Attend and contribute to key meetings including (but not limited to) IPT morning meetings, DPU forums, Engineering WO meetings etc.
  11. Take leadership in ensuring concessions/production permits, IDN requests, CoC signoffs, Receiver requests, CoAs are processed correctly and in a timely manner, directly supporting where required.
  12. Support achievement of quality assurance milestones within the Programme, Product, and Project lifecycle i.e., timely review and completion of Quality compliance matrices, internal audits, TCU signoffs, providing inputs into bid activities etc.
  13. Ensure delivery of reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project, and function in a timely manner.
  14. Actively manage root cause and corrective action investigations by taking lead on key MRBs, FRBs, SCARS, and customer complaints.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly complex industry.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
  3. Some knowledge and practical experience of Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, and First Article Inspection.
  4. Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in the language of the business.
  5. Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  6. Demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
  7. Have demonstrated experience working in a high precision manufacturing environment.

Contract Duration: 12 month contract
Work Type: Site based

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance.
