Job summary

ITS Group requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a residential developer working across Dorset and Hampshire. You will oversee commercial management for private new-builds, apartments and affordable housing, ensuring robust cost control and accurate financial reporting.

You will coordinate with construction teams, manage subcontractor procurement and evaluations, and drive margin improvements while meeting programme requirements.

Qualifications

• Senior Quantity Surveyor experience in residential developers or main contractor environments.
• Strong background in new-build residential construction, including houses and apartments.
• Experience with affordable housing schemes is advantageous.
• Commercial focus with profitability and financial performance understanding.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for residential developments incl. houses, apartments and affordable housing.
• Manage project costs from procurement through to completion and final account.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, cost plans, forecasts and financial reports.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, tendering and package negotiations.
• Review subcontractor quotations, scopes of work and contracts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities to improve margins.
• Manage subcontractor valuations, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and investigate variances.
• Collaborate with site teams to maintain commercial control.
