Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor for major UK power and utilities infrastructure programmes. You will lead commercial management of overhead line and substation projects, and act as a key interface between client, delivery teams and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the power, utilities or energy sector.
• Solid understanding of NEC/JCT or similar contracts.
• Experience delivering cost, procurement and commercial outcomes on complex infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of overhead line and substation projects.
• Develop and maintain detailed cost plans, budgets, and forecasts.
• Monitor project performance with cost reporting and variance analysis.
• Administer contracts (NEC/JCT or similar) including compensation events.
• Support procurement strategy, tender prep and contract awards.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities across projects.
• Provide clear commercial reporting to senior stakeholders and client teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and delivery teams to drive value.
• Support dispute avoidance through proactive contract/commercial management.
• Promote best practice and continuous improvement in commercial processes.
