We are currently recruiting for a Senior QS/Commercial Manager with Highways and Civils Experience to work across the South East.

You will be working for a first tier contractor that operates throughout the UK providing Highways and Civils related Services.

Managing the financial framework of the contract with responsibility of cost control, producing work orders, procurement, sub contractors, interim accounts, producing final accounts and allocating revenue.

Producing and providing accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value.

Team management & mentoring junior members staff along with providing advice and guidance to other members of the team as and when required.

Responsibilities will also include the management and maintenance of the contract, updating the cost reporting system, ensuring all financial information is recorded and tracked with budget & tender allowances, commitments and deviations.

Other experience:-

  • Sound working knowledge of construction and contract law and various forms of Conditions of Contracts
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement process
  • Strong working knowledge of construction techniques including project management
  • You will have the ability to apply the knowledge and principles of commercial management to a highways business
  • Working knowledge of plant, equipment and materials.
  • Conversant with NEC forms of contract
  • Experience of negotiating with subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • General civil engineering and surfacing practices
