Job summary

Escape Velocity is seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead QA for a AAA game development team. You will steer embedded testing, partner with cross-functional leadership, and balance quality, schedule, and risk in a demanding, creative environment.

This fully remote role invites you to mentor QA Leads and external vendors, oversee test planning across gameplay, performance, and certification, and drive data-driven improvements that ensure release readiness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software QA with 3+ years managing teams in game development.
• Proven track record of shipping at least one major AAA title across the full development lifecycle.
• Expertise in developing test strategies, risk-based testing, and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define global QA strategy, test objectives, quality gates, and risk-based testing methodologies for major project milestones.
• Lead embedded testing teams and mentor QA Leads and testers to foster ownership and collaboration.
• Oversee test planning and execution across functional, gameplay, performance, stability, multiplayer, and platform certification.
• Analyze defect data to identify systemic quality issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Establish QA schedules and deliverables for milestones and coordinate final regression and release readiness.
