Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior QA Engineer for our UK Digital & Data team to lead testing strategy, drive automation, and mentor less experienced engineers across multiple sectors. You will shape testing approaches, collaborate with developers and product specialists, and champion quality throughout the SDLC while advancing in modern automation and cloud practices.

Senior QA Engineer Are you ready to take your quality assurance expertise to the next level? At Jacobs, we're seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our growing UK Digital & Data team. This is your chance to lead the charge in delivering high-quality digital solutions across sectors such as water, transportation, defence, and government, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical systems.

As a Senior QA Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping testing strategies, driving automation, and mentoring junior team members. Working within multidisciplinary agile teams, you'll collaborate with developers, product specialists, and stakeholders to champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle. This is an opportunity to influence technical delivery and grow your expertise in modern automation frameworks, cloud technologies, and continuous delivery practices.

What you'll do:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated and manual test solutions.
Define testing requirements and acceptance criteria in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Conduct functional, regression, integration, and non-functional testing activities.
Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the wider engineering community. Proven experience with automation frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, or Cucumber.

Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, functional testing techniques, and defect tracking systems.
Expertise in writing clean, maintainable code using languages such as Java, JavaScript, or C#.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

This role is subject to UK Security Vetting at SC (security check)level. Applicants must be willing to undergo the appropriate security clearance process if not already cleared. If you're successful in your application, we'll ask you to undergo the relevant vetting process to achieve SC/DV clearance. You can find out more about vetting 1 here.
Any offer of employment will be conditional upon satisfactory completion of the relevant clearance process.

This is a full time, permanent, hybrid (2-3 days/week) role, with occasional business travel across the UK.
