Overview

Senior QA Engineer

Our client is a forward thinking technology-first Belfast success story. They are looking for a Senior QA to help shape strategy, mentor engineers, and build automated testing frameworks for back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines. This role blends hands-on testing with strategy, working in an Agile environment alongside engineers and data specialists.

What you'll be doing

• Leading QA strategy across back-end services, APIs and data pipelines
• Mentoring QA engineers and collaborating with software/data engineers
• Designing, developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks
• Driving functional, integration, regression, and data testing approaches
• Performing hands-on unit, integration and end-to-end automated testing
• Identifying and tracking defects, ensuring timely resolution and retesting
• Ensuring adherence to testing standards while driving continuous improvement
• Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to an Agile mindset
• Documenting test cases, results, and defect reports in detail

What we're looking for

Essential

• 5+ years in QA, including 2+ in a senior or lead role
• Strong automation testing background with proven framework development
• Proficiency in Python for automation, with C# or TypeScript desirable
• Experience setting test strategies for software and data solutions
• Cloud-based testing experience (AWS)
• Strong Agile mindset and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail and communication skills
• Experience building and maintaining scalable automated test solutions

Desirable

• Proficiency with test automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, NUnit)
• Experience in data testing and collaboration with data engineers
• Familiarity with Git, Jira and backlog management tools
• Ability to triage production issues, debug and collaborate with users
