Job summary

Hyperlayer is seeking an experienced test automation leader to own and evolve our automation frameworks, ensuring speed, reliability and API-first testing for fintech-scale payment flows.

You will mentor engineers, drive contract testing with Pact, and partner with Product and Implementation teams to reflect real client usage while advancing AI-assisted testing. This role is based in London with a hybrid office pattern.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in test automation and quality engineering, with leadership experience.
• Proven track record building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong API automation with REST Assured or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve test automation frameworks, ensuring maintainability and speed.
• Design new data-driven test harnesses and non-functional testing tooling.
• Set up contract testing with Pact, including CI/CD gates.
• Lead testing standards and review designs for quality engineers.
• Collaborate with product and client implementation to reflect real payment flows.
• Drive down flakiness with measurable suite health metrics.
• Evaluate and adopt AI tools for testing; mentor testers moving to automation.
