Job summary

BUUK Infrastructure Woolpit is seeking a Senior Systems Developer (Python/PostgreSQL) to deliver well-developed full‑stack software solutions and work with users and product owners to ensure outputs are fit for purpose.

You will shape the design, engineering and support of an established product suite while contributing toward departmental policies and standards. Hybrid working is available and the company offers competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience designing large or complex systems with functional/non-functional requirements.
• Experience with release management tools (Azure DevOps/Jenkins) for CI/CD.
• Experience with Git/version control and code reviews.
• Client-side development with React/JQuery/JS and CSS/Bootstrap.
• Server-side development experience.
• Understanding OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices.
• Experience with agile, kanban, scrum, or waterfall.
• SQL data manipulation and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Designs, codes, tests, and refactors complex programs and integrations.
• Promotes effective development methods and tools for software delivery.
• Ensure customer-focused solutions with minimal customer effort.
• Capture and share specialist knowledge across the team.
• Maintain release processes and deployment tools and schedules.
• Contribute to continual improvement of systems and processes.
• Provide leadership and guidance to teammates and projects.
• Support the team to meet incident SLA and user expectations.
