Job summary

Luxoft Germany in London is seeking a senior Python developer to lead the build of a data and application platform for an investment banking client. You will design scalable back-end services, optimize data pipelines on Databricks, and implement CI/CD in Azure DevOps.

You will mentor the team, enforce clean-code practices, translate business requirements into robust solutions, and actively participate in Scrum/Kanban ceremonies within a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Sybase (ASE and/or IQ).
• Strong SQL skills with performance tuning.
• Strong hands-on Python development skills.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining ETL processes.
• Unix/Linux and shell scripting knowledge.
• Experience in automated testing of applications and data processes.
• Clean coding skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with agile practices (Scrum, Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Python.
• Build and optimize data pipelines on Databricks.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
• Advise and guide the team on architecture and best practices.
• Mentor developers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Define and consume RESTful APIs across teams.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration).
• Participate in agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Collaborate with QA, product managers, and architects to ensure high-quality deliveries.
