Government Recruitment Service in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Python) to design, build and run robust software across the full SDLC. You will work in a multidisciplinary agile team to deliver maintainable digital solutions used by government services and citizens.

The role involves developing REST APIs, microservices and containerised applications, reviewing code, and driving improvements in engineering practices to enhance reliability and performance.

• Ability to work across the full software development lifecycle including deployment and production support.
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to translate user needs into software.

• Improve service reliability and resolve underlying technical issues across the wider service.
• Investigate and resolve live service incidents and implement sustainable improvements.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable software delivery.
• Review code and share knowledge to improve quality and consistency across the team.
• Contribute to engineering practices and prototype potential solutions where appropriate.
