Job summary

London Hedge Fund is seeking an experienced Python Developer to partner with Quantitative Researchers, designing and building software that underpins research, analytics and live trading. You will join a highly technical environment where engineering quality and collaboration are valued as much as innovation.

This role focuses on creating tools and platforms to move ideas to production, taking ownership through the full software lifecycle with a modern engineering stack.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Quantitative Finance.
• Strong Python development experience in research/trading contexts.
• Experience with Git and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of data processing, storage and analysis.
• Experience with C++ or KDB+/q; quantitative/financial engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Partnering with Quantitative Researchers to build software supporting research and trading
• Developing scalable Python applications and workflows
• Designing high-performance solutions for processing and analysing large datasets
• Collaborating with engineering teams to build reusable software components
• Taking ownership from design through to deployment and ongoing improvement
• Supporting business-critical systems within a modern engineering environment
