Job summary

Oliver Bernard is seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer to join a leading financial services client in London. You will design, build and scale high-performance Python applications within a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

The role offers a hybrid pattern (4 days in the London office and 1 day from home) with a salary up to £150,000–£200,000 plus bonus. You will mentor engineers, contribute to architecture and collaborate with traders, quants and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience with Python and modern development practices.
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
• Experience with APIs, data-intensive applications, testing, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-performance Python applications and services.
• Develop robust, scalable and production-quality software.
• Work closely with quantitative, trading, technology and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical architecture and engineering best practices.
• Optimise systems for performance, reliability and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
