Job summary

Robert Walters is supporting a large multinational financial services client in Glasgow to hire a Senior Python Developer. You will design, develop and maintain production-grade Python applications and automation frameworks, and build automation and pipelines for deployment, monitoring and capacity planning.

You will integrate Python solutions with infrastructure, storage, APIs and third-party systems, working with global teams to deliver scalable, highly available solutions.

Qualifications

• Advanced Python development experience with production-grade applications and automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering, OOP, SDLC best practices, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with automation, deployment and CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, system integration and SQL/databases.
• Good working knowledge of Linux/RHEL environments and infrastructure technologies.
• Exposure to enterprise storage and storage automation, monitoring or capacity management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain production-grade Python applications and automation frameworks.
• Build automation and pipelines for infrastructure deployment, patching, monitoring, and capacity management.
• Integrate Python solutions with infrastructure, storage platforms, APIs and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop automation for problem management and proactive maintenance, following SDLC best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues across Python applications, Linux, infrastructure and storage environments with a global team.
